Musandam, Oman, April 2010

The Musandam Peninsula is an exclave of the Sultanate of Oman, separated from the rest of Oman by the UAE. Its inhabitants feel they have more in common with the UAE, which they visit often for consumer goods, than with the rest of Oman.

Its very isolation makes Musandam special, and, as is usual in the Arab world, there is a dichotomy between modern technology (fast, expensive cars, latest mobile phones, expensive gadgets) and centuries-old Arab culture and morals.

And in the middle of all this, a small gang of "holy-water" drinking, half-naked, and possibly loose moralled Brits. Oh dear. But in fact, they really werent that bad....and not one of them shook their booty like Mohammed...

In fact, a good time was had by one and all.
